Grounded in the Garden

TJ Maher's artist's guide to creating a beautiful garden in harmony with nature is a book about the author's Patthana Garden in Wicklow.

Grounded in the Garden

The Pimpernel Press published book is about how Maher created his garden; the colours, the borders, the connection to nature.

The garden is about love, says Maher, an artist who brings an artist's eye to his plot.

Jane Powers recognises this in her foreword, which also notes Maher's plantsman's knowledge.

The photographs, by the author and top photographers Clive Nichols, Jason Ingrams, Rochard Murphy and Karen Neary bring every corner of the book to life.

We find out about what this garden means to the author and what a garden can mean to anyone, if they can instil their personality in it.
