Plant Geek Perry said: "It's super exciting to have this opportunity to share my new product insight with Hort Week readers! I hope you'll enjoy the previews of products, and inspiring ideas i will be bringing to you all!"

He added: "It's an absolute honour to be asked to create a fresh new feature for HortWeek. I've been in the industry for 25-odd years, introducing hundreds of new plants from the TomTato to the mystical Black Hyacinth. Through my development work, I've always been keen to get into the 'kitchen' at growing locations, as speaking directly to the breeder can often give you extra insight, and likewise they can benefit from my close consumer contact. Plants are my passion; what's new, what's hot, what's coming back, and my New Plants Radar will incorporate all of that, plus a few behind the scenes whispers here and there..."

His monthly insights replace those of Graham Rice, who has moved on to pastures new.
