Organiser Pat Coutts said plant health will always be a big issue and the show takes it seriously. In 2017 the show introduced tighter controls on plant passporting checks and plant health certificate circulars are currently going out to overseas exhibitors.
The show has around 400 exhibitors including 40% from Europe. There will be new blood from the continent this September says Coutts.
Christmas trees are another big area for the show, with more than 30 exhibitors booked from the sector.
