BBC Newsnight was filmed inside the Palm House at Plumpton College at Stanmer Park earlier this week (23 September).
Presenter Jeremy Paxman met with Jim Miller, lecturer at Stanmer Park campus.
Plumpton College staff and horticulture students helped to create an attractive auditorium staging in the Palm House for Newsnight, which broadcast live with an audience, during the Labour Party Conference in Brighton.
It is the first time that BBC Newsnight has been staged in such a venue. The Palm House, built in 1952, was formerly a tropical house but now operates as a cold house, with tropical effect plants that can be grown in the milder South Coast areas.
The plants were lifted and stored to be replanted after the show.
