Andrew Wilson brings drawing expertise to Crewe in the first of a series of satellite courses

Award-winning garden designer Andrew Wilson is holding a one-day garden design drawing course in Crewe.

Best in Show in Singapore: Sacred Grove by Andrew Wilson and Gavin McWilliam

He will look at the best best communication techniques for the speedy delivery of drawings and visuals at The London College of Garden Design's new satellite centre on 7 November.

Despite working in an increasingly computerised world, the ability to sketch and think spatially is still essential to the design approach, Wilson says.

Perspectives and rendering techniques will be covered but drawings will be loose and lively and may also include 3D views and sectional elevations too.

The course has been sold out on four occasions when it was held in London. More courses are to follow next year including subjects such as construction detailing, designing with water, contemporary planting design and successful business strategies.

Andrew Wilson co-runs Wilson McWilliam Studio with Gavin McWilliam and they together won Best in Show at the Singapore Garden Festival in August. They also designed gardens at RHS Chelsea Flower Show for client Cloudy Bay for the past two years. He is a director of the The London College of Garden Design and lectures frequently.
