Alan Titchmarsh introduces the new HortWeek/Colegrave Seabrook Foundation horticulture careers podcast, out this Friday 30 August.

Titchmarsh said on the podcast that horticulture has taken him on a 60 year journey from an Ilkley council parks apprenticeship aged 15 to working on Nelson Mandela's garden, teaching at Kew and meeting the Queen several times, and at "every turn I have benefitted from the support and friendship of the horticulture community. There's always someone who knows a bit more than you. Every day is a school day."

He said the Colegrave Seabrook Foundation "spotlights a community I hope you'll consider joining".

On the podcast, HortWeek columnist Neville Stein interviews guests from the 30th anniversary Colegrave Seabrook Foundation event at Ball trials in Oxfordshire this summer, including Neil Grant, Bruce Harnett, Piers Lavan, Alice Cook, Ian Hazon, Holly Sturgess and Phil Swainston.
