Acquisitions shuffle the 2024 Top 25 Arboriculture Businesses ranking

The seventh annual HortWeek Top Arboriculture Businesses listing uses arboriculture-specific turnover figures from each company’s latest financial year.

One notable change is Glendale Countryside & Estates Management, which has increased turnover from £9.9m to £21.3m and attributed this growth to its acquisition of City Suburban Tree Surgeons as well as winning new work. Other major acquisitions include Nurture Group buying Gristwood & Toms and idverde taking over Acorn Environmental Management Group.

The majority of this year’s entries have grown turnover since our last listing. But, despite a strong year, there have also been challenges around the skills shortage and the increasing cost of running a business.

HortWeek contacted the major players in the arboriculture industry as well as sourcing figures from Companies House.
